I thought Carrie Underwood was great!  Was her acting a little rough, yes but so what?  She was there for her singing, she’s beautiful, and she’s a huge star that drew 18.5 million viewers.

Case closed!
New York Daily News reports from the top of the hills, Carrie Underwood is sounding off to critics who slammed her live theatrical performance.

"Plain and simple: Mean people need Jesus," she tweeted Friday. "They will be in my prayers tonight … 1 Peter 2:1-25."

The 30-year-old singer was responding to harsh criticisms for her starring role in the "Sound of Music Live!" on NBC Dec. 5.

Not only was she bashed for a less-than-perfect portrayal of Julie Andrews' Maria von Trapp character from the general public, but also from stars from the original film.
"Mystified & disappointed so far by SOM special," Kym Karath tweeted during the live show Thursday.

Karathplayed the role of Greti von Trapp in the 1965 musical film "The Sound of Music."
"So far only happy with Stephen Moyer," she added. "Must admit some scenes are actually painful to watch."

Moyer stars in HBO's "True Blood" and played Captain von Trapp in the live musical performance.

"Love Carrie Underwood but this role is just not right for her," Karath continued. "She is lovely, her voice is beautiful, but acting is wrong."

Kym Karath needs to get a life!  How many people today even remember the names of the children cast members from the original film?  I only remember the two adult leads Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.
